Welcome
I started Affordable Consulting with three goals in mind:
1) Offer consulting to people who never could afford a consultant, didn't even think of using one because of cost. A little bit like ZipCar -- a consultant for an hour or two.
2) Offer consulting that helps organizations progress quickly -- keep everything good they're doing and improve everything that's improvable
3) Make my blend of experience and willingness to address problems available to anyone.
If a decision is proving tough, if you just need another mind for an hour, if you need practical input at a low price, a quick edit, or other help, small groups and individuals nearby can get this for $45 for the first hour. The first twenty minutes is free, a test drive. Then, you send me on my way, or hand me $45 and we continue working. Rates for larger organizations or places I have to drive to will generally be $55-65/hour.
Click on "Services" for more detail on what I can do. Click on "About Jim" for more details about my experience and areas of strength.
I am perfectly willing to give free advice or free referrals, so long as they work out well for you. Don't hesitate to email, get some info, and then approach your challenge using the person or source I recommend. This is nothing new. Stores do it all the time, answering questions from someone who makes no purchase that day, or referring them to a store that fits their needs. Contractors do it all the time, explaining things when they look at your job and put it in a bid. People who get free help from me will help build this business, because people talk with people.
If you tell me your challenge, I'll probably know real quick if I'm the best in the world to assist with it. Or at least the best in the local area. If I'm not, I'll try to steer you in the right direction.
